Seaver Claims Threatening Messages Were Taken Out of Context
In September, the late icon's estate filed a restraining order against Seaver. The estate alleged that he had threatened several of its employees after he and his security team were axed from their longtime role of protecting Parton's properties. However, in a statement shared by Seaver's attorneys, Dominic J. Leonardo and James L. Collier, he says that those claims are inaccurate.
"While the family was grieving, the business manager went to court and the media with a surprising and incomplete story. Seeing misleading text messages taken out of context has been very hurtful to our client and his family," the statement reads (via PEOPLE).
His lawyers also said that the estate was granted the restraining order without considering Seaver's recollection of events. They noted that he would reveal his "side of the story," in due time.
"The restraining order was granted 'ex parte' without the benefit of the court hearing Mr. Seaver's side of the story, which is coming," the statement adds. "While Mr. Seaver and family work through this, they trust the bright light of Dolly's legacy remains untouched, and they are eager to amicably and expeditiously resolve this matter."
According to an October 6 report from Page Six, Seaver sent a slew of threatening email messages. To the employees of the country music icon's estate.
One of the people included in the thread is Parton's longtime business manager. Danny Nozell. Employees of She's Alive and Seaver's security company, Seaver's Squadron Augmented Protection Service, were also included in the thread.
Nozell has not spoken out about the ongoing feud between Seaver and the estate. Stay tuned for more updates.
