Country music icon Dolly Parton passed away on Tuesday morning (August 24). She was 80 years old.

Parton Will Be Buried in Her 'Signature Heels'
The singer's nephew, Brian Seaver, who also served as her head of security for more than twenty years revealed details about her final resting place in a statement. Seaver said that Parton will be buried "in her signature heels." In a mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Located in her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
She will be buried in the same place as her late husband, Carl Dean. Dolly and Carl were married for 58 years before his passing in March 2025.
Parton had been dealing with health issues before her passing. Multiple reports said that she had been dealing with autoimmune issues that hospitalized her. Ultimately causing her to pause her famed Las Vegas residency.
Star Had "Brief Battle With Cancer"
However, in a statement following her passing, reps for the country music star revealed that she passed away on Tuesday after a "brief battle with cancer." However, they do not go into detail about what type of cancer the star had been diagnosed with.
"Our beloved Dolly Parton spent her life and career bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity into everything she touched. Her unmatched generosity reached the lives of countless people whom she would never meet, yet she was always there to offer a helping hand," the statement read.
"Whether it be the hundreds of millions of books donated through her invaluable Imagination Library or funding research that helped create a lifesaving vaccine used around the world, Dolly's unconditional love for all people was the guiding force for her lasting impact."

Referencing her donation toward the research of the COVID-19 vaccination. Parton's lasting impact was felt after the news of her passing was made public. Several of the top entertainers, such as Dione Warwick, sent messages of condolences and recalled fond memories. United States President Donald Trump also ordered flags to be lowered.
Parton was 80 years old.
