Earlier this year, country legend Dolly Parton revealed plans for a sequel to her record-breaking television movie, Coat of Many Colors. Now, she's shared even more details of her latest holiday-themed project.
Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love will follow the Parton family as they deal with a harsh blizzard and financial difficulties. During these struggles, Dolly embraces singing and begins her path to superstardom.
The semi-autobiographical film will feature all of the same cast members as last year's television movie. Parton says the decision to help create another chapter of her story through film was an easy one, thanks to the outpouring of support from fans.
"I was so overwhelmed and touched by how many people watched Coat of Many Colors and their reaction to it," Parton explained in a statement. "The song 'Coat of Many Colors,' of course, has always been my favorite and has touched so many people through the years, especially me. It is a true story from a very special time in my childhood. I am so happy to share this story with the viewers and to say there is so much more to tell because mine truly has been a life of many colors. I hope the viewers will fall in love all over again."
Fans can see the premiere of Christmas of Many Colors on Nov. 30 via NBC.
