Dolly Parton and her music have transcended generations. In fact, she just broke a Billboard Country Chart record that proves it! Parton is now the only country artist to have Top 20 singles on the Hot Country Songs chart in every decade, starting with the '60s. That's a pretty impressive accomplishment!
Her most recent hit was the stripped-down "Jolene" remix that she did with Pentatonix. The song landed at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart shortly after its release. Pentatonix is an a cappella group that rose to fame after competing on NBC's reality competition The Sing-Off in 2011.
The "Jolene" collaboration earned Parton her Top 20 hit for the current decade. The song was originally released in 1973 and is perhaps Parton's most iconic song to date.
The singer's first ever Top 20 single was "Something Fishy," which she released in 1967. It was a track off of her first studio album, aptly titled Hello, I'm Dolly.
Six decades later, Parton is still putting out new music. In August, she released her 43rd studio album, Pure & Simple. She wrote and composed every song on it. The busy icon also has over a dozen tour stops lined up across the country through the end of the year.
