Dolly Parton and Friends Stun 2019 Grammy Audience With Legendary Tribute Medley

Dolly Parton was honored during the 2019 Grammy Awards with a star-studded tribute, but it wouldn't be like the country icon to sit in the audience and watch others do her songs. Thankfully (because anytime Dolly is on our television screens it's a great thing), Parton was right there the whole time to lead her own tribute performance. Just as it should be.

The performance kicked off with Parton, Kacey Musgraves and Katy Perry performing Parton's 1977 hit "Here You Come Again." Parton was then joined by her goddaughter Miley Cyrus for a stirring rendition of the 1974 classic, "Jolene."

Parton and Cyrus them teamed up with Maren Morris for a gorgeous performance of "After the Gold Rush," which was recorded by Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt for their 1999 album Trio II.

Parton also performed her new song "Red Shoes" with help from Little Big Town. The song is from the recently released Dumplin' soundtrack.

Parton was named the MusiCares Person of the Year, an honor awarded to the country legend for her acts of philanthropy. Another tribute to the country legend was held on Feb. 8 at the MusiCares Person of the Year Gala, which included performances from Chris Stapleton, Shawn Mendes, Pink, Leon Bridges, Mark Ronson and Lauren Daigle.
