Dolly Parton "Got Out of Her Bed" to Make Final Vocal Recording Before Her Death

We all know that Dolly Parton had a great work ethic - I mean, just look at "9 to 5" - but she was always willing to do just one more song.

We all know that Dolly Parton had some of the most impressive work ethic out of anyone in the music scene. Of course, you have her cliché "9 to 5" song - a classic, sure, and pretty darn indicative of just how hard-working she was... but that only scratches the surface.

Whether it was all her side ventures - Dollywood, her coffee brand, her hotel, about a million other things we don't have the space in this article to name - or how she genuinely cared for absolutely everyone she met, she was a true treasure.

And the Queen of Country absolutely embodied this spirit up until when she was on her deathbed. As reported by People, U2's Bono recently opened up about her final vocal recording.

"When she got ill, she got out of bed to sing this song," he admitted. He's referring to a duet they performed together for the band's upcoming album, Carnaval De Luz. "Torn" is described as "a tender country song detailing broken family ties that holds wider resonances."

Bono admitted that he is unable to "even listen to it now".

The Song Was Written by Dolly Parton

The song itself was originally written by Dolly Parton, Bono explained.

Originally, he wanted to have the Queen of Country on a side project inspired by Irish folk music, but she said it was "a little too Irish" for her tastes. So, she offered up "Torn" for them - Bono re-wrote things a little, and then she agreed to sing!

"She sang her heart out and I cannot believe that's an 80 year old woman," he said. Bono also explained that Dolly Parton was "so proud of her vocal and the recording... She was thrilled with it".

The producer for the album, Garret "Jacknife" Lee, also said, "We were very nervous that she might not approve, or would be uncomfortable with it... But she loved it."

We can't wait for the album to be released. It's due to come out on November 13. We're so lucky to have Dolly Parton grace our ears one more time. Who's as excited as I am?
