Hear Dolly Parton's Inspiring 'Girl in the Movies' From the 'Dumplin'' Soundtrack

Dolly Parton has shared "Girl in the Movies," the latest release from the soundtrack to the upcoming Netflix movie Dumplin'.

"Girl in the Movies" is a song for any daydreamer who's escaped to the movies to wonder what it would be like to shine like your favorite characters on the silver screen. But in classic Dolly fashion, the country icon encourages listeners to live out their own dreams...in real life.

"Wish I had a nickel for each dime I've spent watchin' others live their lives with confidence/ Here's the preview of some things to come/ It's not too late for me to be someone," Parton sings. "I can't keep living in their make believe/ Coming attractions will be starring me"

Dumplin', based on the 2015 young adult novel of the same name, centers on Willowdean Dixon (Danielle Macdonald), a plus-size teenager who enters her small Texas town's beauty pageant. Her mother, a former beauty queen, is played by Jennifer Aniston.

During an appearance on Ellen, Aniston hinted that she may be collaborating with Parton on the soundtrack. It turns out that the actress is featured on the track "Push and Pull," singing background vocals for Parton.

Parton's music plays a significant role in the film. The singer co-wrote six original songs on the album with producer and artist Linda Perry. The soundtrack is rounded out by re-imagined Parton songs, featuring collaborations with Miranda Lambert, Elle King, Alison Krauss, Macy Gray, Mavis Staples and more.

The Dumplin' soundtrack will be released on Nov. 30. The movie will be debut on Netflix on Dec. 7.
