It's the kind of burrito you might normally make two meals out of, or at least finish leisurely. But eating challenges are popular and can be fun, so if you find yourself in South Austin having skipped breakfast and lunch, you might give it a go.
Some DK Maria's customers have taken the restaurant up on the challenge (and won). If you're going to try and be one of them, our advice is to skip the chips and queso.
Chris finished the Big Burro Challenge in 10 minutes. Can you beat that? There's only one way to find out!
And if you're not up for the Big Burro challenge as part of your dining experience, there are plenty of other things to try at the restaurant. The Austin restaurant, owned by Mike and DK Reynolds and Bruce and Mary Evans, gets its name from DK and its legendary family recipes from South Texas, including Cow Camp Enchiladas with Carne Guisada, the Jorge Enchilada, and Queso Flameado.
The Tex-Mex restaurant is located at 1807 Slaughter Lane in Austin.
