When it was announced Gwen Stefani would not be returning to The Voice as co-star and judge alongside Blake Shelton, the Nashville singer became noticeably disappointed. "I don't want Gwen to not be on the show," he said to Extra TV at the time. "Why can't we have a fifth coach?"
Sounds like his wonderful voice might've been heard. According to Us Weekly, Stefani will be back next season to mentor members of Shelton's team.
Christina Aguilera will be coming back to the reality competition to reclaim her spot as celebrity judge, a role Stefani had taken on in her absence. She became a fan favorite in the process, but the move to bring back Aguilera was widely expected.
Blake Shelton for one is sure to approve of this change in heart by the show's producers. The surprise romance between the two has made some mighty headlines over the past few months, and this is only the latest twist in the burgeoning high-profile affair.
"Sometimes you don't know who's in your life that can save you. I found some people in my life that have changed my life forever," he said recently on the heels of an album announcement.
The couple confirmed their relationship on Nov. 4, just hours before the 2015 CMA Awards. The news surprised many fans who were still coming to terms with Shelton's surprise divorce from Miranda Lambert earlier in the year.
Season 10 of The Voice is set to premiere Feb. 10 at 8/7 p.m CST on NBC.
