Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Keaton's daughter, Dexter, remembered her mother. She shared a series of photos from across their lives. It included one where Dexter was a kid and another where she was at her wedding in 2021.
Dexter wrote, "First Mother's Day without you. I miss you more than words can say. Missing her voice, her hugs, her presence, and everything that made her home. I love you, Mom ?."
Keaton passed away late last year after battling pneuomonia. At the time, the family confirmed her passing.
The family said, "The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11."

They continued, "She loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her."
While Keaton never married, she adopted two children in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She adopted Dexter and Duke. Being a mother was important to Keaton.
She told Ladies Home Journal, "Motherhood was not an urge I couldn't resist. It was more like a thought I'd been thinking for a very long time. So I plunged in. I think I'm the only one in my generation, and maybe before, who has been a single woman all her life."
After her death, Dexter and Duke paid tribute to her earlier this year by getting a tattoo from Keaton's film Annie Hall to remember her. The quote said "La Di Da" on Dexter's. Meanwhile, Duke got a tattoo that said "Weird Old World."
