Delivery Man Throws Package at Dog, Internet Is Outraged

Everyone knows the trope of the dog barking and howling at the mailman. But the driver might've been a little too aggressive on this one.

Everyone knows the trope of the dog barking and howling at the mailman. It's even been backed up by postal companies - USPS recently put out a dire warning to pet owners to keep their dogs leashed and out of sight. That's because they cause a large number of injuries if they're not secured.

But the Internet sure seemed to think this case wasn't one of those. A viral video circulating on social media is showing a UPS delivery man hurling a large box at a dog. It was taken from the house owner's video camera.

The dog appears to run up to the man, but whether it was in a playful or aggressive way is unclear. There was some barking, which might suggest aggressive behavior. The man said "Get, dog!" before hurling the box.

In any case, the way he threw the package was... startling, to say the least. It was a pretty big box, and it caused the dog to fully lose its footing and whine before scampering off.

But that's not where the wild stuff ends. He's seen taking his hat off and moving his arms around in frustration as the dog's owner approaches him, clearly upset.

The clip ends with a verbal altercation that looks to almost turn physical as the driver raises his fists. Several expletives are thrown around. The man shouts, "Why are you throwing s*** at my f****** dog?!", with the delivery guy replying, "You wanna go right now?"

But we don't know what happens there.

The Internet Was Outraged At the Dog Incident

The Internet was not happy. Commentors expressed that they wouldn't take what he did very lightly.

"He wouldn't be able to walk if that was my dog," one wrote. Others were more graphic, with one saying he would have shot the man.

Others saw his aggression as an admission of guilt. "His instant squaring up to the owner shows this wasn't self-defense," one wrote. Another wrote, "He's too eager to fight the dog owner."

Others defended the driver, with one saying, "Don't order s*** to your house and then have your dog out." Another commented, "> Dont train your dog or leash it, > Be mad when someone defends him self."

In any case, according to TMZ, UPS have taken action. They said in a statement to the outlet, "We have taken appropriate action with our driver and also have followed up with our customer."
