For System Of A Down, their Sick New World appearance was a milestone occasion. The iconic band celebrated 25 years of its smash hit album Toxicity and performed several tracks from the famed project.
Sick New World also installed food stations where attendees could order fried rice and curry, a nod to the band's hit song "Chop Suey!"
The band released Toxicity on September 4, 2001. The heralded album is RIAA-certified 7-times Platinum and earned the band two Grammy nominations.
Following their Sick New World appearance, System Of A Down is slated to perform two shows at the Rose Bowl in June 2027. They will be joined by pop-punk band Pierce the Veil.
Rock Bands Bring the Noise at Sick New World
System Of A Down was not the only band celebrating a career milestone at Sick New World.
Thrash metal band Slayer commemorated 40 years of its Reign In Blood album at the Texas-based music festival.
Reign In Blood is the band's third studio album and one of its most commercially successful projects. The 40-year-old album features hit songs "Raining Blood" and "Angel Of Death."
Sick New World attendees were also treated to an 18-song Deftones set to close the festival.
The award-winning band rocked the Gold Stage with hit songs "Rosemary", "Around The Fur", "Entombed", "Sextape", and "My Own Summer (Shove It)".
Sick New World is hosted annually in Las Vegas. After its massive turnout at Texas Motor Speedway, the festival could make a yearly trip to Texas, too.
