Deana Carter Marries Jim McPhail in Peaceful Florida Ceremony

On Friday, July 6, Deana Carter married Jim McPhail at The Pearl Hotel, a stunning location in the Florida Panhandle. The small, private ceremony included important roles for Carter and McPhail's siblings. Carter's brother gave her away at the altar while McPhail's sister officiated the ceremony.

As seen in the Instagram posts below, The Pearl Hotel provides the perfect setting for a classy beach wedding. Located about 20 minutes away from Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., where the couple have a home, The Pearl Hotel sits on Rosemary Beach.

Carter and McPhail met about a year ago through mutual friends, and their relationship quickly began to soar. "This is a special time for both of us. We are extremely blessed to have met during this season of our lives and blending our families into one happy one," the couple said in a statement. The newlyweds plans on splitting time between their homes in Florida and Los Angeles.

Deana Carter entered the country music scene in 1996 with her debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This? featuring the megahit song, "Strawberry Wine." She went on to release 14 singles across seven albums. After winning the CMA for Single of the Year for "Strawberry Wine" in 1997, Carter also gained several Grammy nominations, including Best Country Female Vocal Performance for "Strawberry Wine" in 1997, Best Country Female Vocal Performance for "Did I Shave My Legs for This?" in 1998, and Best Country Song for "You and Tequila" in 2012.

Carter currently has a couple of performances lined up, including an apperance at Farm Fest alongside Lonestar and Clay Walker on September 22 in North Carolina. She's also spending her time writing more music and working on film and TV productions.
