Paris Jackson shared as much when she spoke to Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast. And one moment in that interview that stood out is that the singer didn't meet her birth mother until she was 15.

Paris Jackson Started Asking About Her Mom When She Was 10

Paris is one of the three children of Michael Jackson. The 28-year-old has an older brother named Prince, who is 29. They both share a mother, Debbie Rowe. Their younger brother, the 24-year-old Bigi, who once went by Blanket, was born through a surrogate.

As PEOPLE reports, Michael and Rowe married in 1996 after meeting at his dermatologist's office. But in 2000, the couple divorced. Rowe gave Michael full custody of their children. She now lives in Palmdale, California, away from the public.

Paris said she remembers asking about Rowe when she was a preteen. However, it wasn't until she was 15 that the two began to connect. Paris said the first time she met Rowe was a low-key affair.

She recalled, "I remember coming downstairs, and she was in the living room with my grandma... I was just like, 'Hey, Mom,' and she was like, 'Hi.' I sat down. We talked for a second. Then we went out for the day and just hung out."

The Two Now Have a Connection

Paris said that the key to her relationship with Rowe is that she entered it with no expectations. This allowed them to have a more natural connection.

"She's a Sag[ittarius], so she's got the fire. I'm an Aries, I got the fire... We're very similar," Paris said. "I think what's really cool about my process, just in general, in all things, is learning how expectations kind of f*** us up, and if I walk into a relationship with expectations, [I'm] probably gonna end up being maybe disappointed or frustrated or irritated or resentment will be born or something, you know."

She added, "When I walk into something, and I don't have expectations, it creates this really cool space for something organic to just blossom."

The two have supported each other ever since. In 2017, Paris praised Rowe on social media after she completed chemotherapy for breast cancer.

The caption read, "My badass mom, kickin butt n takin names. Ain't she f***in fabulous."
