A 47-year-old Colorado woman, Jessica Hoff has been arrested in connection with her mother's violent death. Reportedly, 76-year-old LaVonne Hoff was mauled to death by several dogs who were left loose inside their residence. Jessica allegedly left LaVonne by herself, despite her suffering from dementia.

According to a news release issued by the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, the incident took place on February 3. Deputies arrived at a Jefferson Boulevard residence after they received a report of an unconscious woman. Upon arrival, deputies found the unresponsive body of LaVonne Hoff. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Inside the home, deputies also found "several dogs running loose." Furthermore, deputies found approximately two dozen dogs and seven birds kept in cages inside the home. In total, there were 54 dogs and seven birds inside the Jefferson Boulevard residence and at a second Colorado City property, belonging to Jessica. The dogs and birds were kept in unsanitary conditions, and several of the dogs were "in poor health." Both the sheriff's office and Animal Law Enforcement seized all the dogs and birds.
Mauled To Death
An autopsy revealed that LeVonne had been killed by a dog attack. As per the statement, an investigation revealed that Jessica Hoff had left the residence to run an errand at Pueblo. By doing so, she left her 76-year-old mother by herself. LaVonne needed 24-hour care given the fact that she had dementia.
As a result, Jessica Hoff was arrested on Friday, March 21. She was charged with criminal negligence resulting in death/at-risk adult and 54 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. She was booked into the Pueblo County Jail, as per the sheriff's office news release
Hoff's arrest comes only days after an animal cruelty incident shook a local Mississippi neighborhood. On March 17, as per the Petal Police Department, an 11-year-old boy allegedly attacked and killed a 3 lbs dog named Chico.
The 11-year-old was accused of hitting Chico to death with a stick. Chico was leashed at the time, and given his size, he was completely defenseless against the alleged brutal attack. As a result, the 11-year-old was charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
