A car has been crushed on the interstate as a tractor-trailer overturned, tipping its load of lumber down to the road below in Dauphin County, Pa.

The terrifying dashcam footage shows the approach to the underpass, with cars moving below and above. As a small family saloon emerges from the far side of the bridge, a tractor carrying a huge pile of logs overturns on the bridge above.

As it tumbles onto the road, it smashes into a car, leaving it crushed. It sped on, careening off the side of the interstate. The following car slams on its brakes, narrowly avoiding further disaster. "Once I realized the incoming danger, I just slammed on my brake and I don't even remember moving to the side of the road," the lucky driver said.
The whole thing was captured by Derek Gooderham, an Uber driver. He narrowly avoided his own car being crushed. "Once we saw the truck was sliding, once it hit the guardrail, the whole load it was carrying just snapped off and it just came barreling down!" he told news outlets
Miraculously Nobody Was Injured in the Crushed Car
Despite the speeding car being absolutely obliterated by the falling lumber, the driver of the crashed car came out unscathed. "I just saw him come out of the car," Gooderham told outlets. "He was staggering up, raised his hand up, which I was assuming he was signaling that he was okay."
I need to know what this guy's car manufacturer was. He must have been driving a tank. The lumber smashed through his driver's side, pushing the car way up the embankment.
But, Gooderham was aware of how close he had been to having his own car crushed. "Had I been going on just a little bit, maybe like one or two miles per hour faster, I probably could have potentially gotten impaled or something because you see all the wood, it clears the top of the first bridge and you just see all this material flying down right in front of me."
In this case, he got lucky. But, this isn't the first time this has happened at this spot. Apparently, due to the nature of the corner and camber, numerous loads have fallen. So, maybe it's time to build a higher guardrail.
