Dasha Thought She Was Having a 'Fever Dream' After Finding Out About Her ACM Nomination

Dasha received her first-ever ACM Awards nomination, for New Female Artist of the Year. The California native released her debut album, What Happens Now?, on Warner Music Nashville in 2024. The record includes her multi-platinum hit, "Austin." Dasha followed that with a deluxe version of the record, which includes "Didn't I," "Bye Bye Bye" and more. She also recently collaborated with The Wiggles on their new album.

Still, Dasha never imagined that she would hear her name among the list of nominees for the 2025 ACM Awards.

"Honestly, it hasn't really hit me," Dasha admits. "I'm still kind of in my imposter syndrome phase. I'm like, 'Is this actually happening? Am I, like, in a fever dream? Am I gonna wake up in 20 minutes?' It's just wild how fast this blow-up has happened. And I know it's a very rare thing for it to happen this quickly and huge, and I'm very grateful for that.

"But, it feels so good, and it feels really right," she adds. "But definitely I haven't caught up to it. My brain hasn't caught up to what's been happening yet."

Dasha scored a sweet opening act gig in 2025 as well. The singer is serving as one of the opening acts on Kane Brown's The High Road Tour. She is joined by Scotty McCreery, Ashley Cooke and Mitchell Tenpenny. Dasha will also join Brown on his overseas dates.

The 2025 ACM Awards

Dasha is no stranger to awards shows. She previously won Female Song of the Year for "Austin," at the People's Choice Country Awards.

At the ACM Awards, Dasha shares the New Female Artist of the Year category with Kassi Ashton, Ashley Cooke, Ella Langley and Jessie Murph. Langley is the most nominated artist at this year's ACM Awards, with a total of eight nominations.

Reba McEntire will return for the second year in a row to host the live ceremony. The ACM Awards take place on May 8. The show will stream live exclusively on Amazon Prime, beginning at 8:00 PM ET. A limited number of tickets are available for fans who want to see the show live. The ACM Awards will take place at Ford Center in The Star District, located in Frisco, Texas.
