Danica McKellar Reveals She and Candace Cameron Bure Were In a Teen Love Triangle

The two dished on the entanglement at 90s Con Tampa last weekend.

In a delightful blast from the past, '90s teen icons Danica McKellar and Candace Cameron Bure have spilled the beans on a love triangle that would make any nostalgic pop culture enthusiast swoon.

The Wonder Years star, McKellar, now 48, shared this captivating revelation at the 90s Con in Tampa last weekend. She disclosed that she and the beloved Full House favorite, Bure, were caught in a web of adolescent affection back in the late '80s when they were just approaching the age of dating.

"So, in 1989, I believe it was," McKellar spilled to Fox News, "there was this party that a teen magazine was putting on, and [Growing Pains star] Jeremy Miller, who was also a young actor, he was at this party. I was there, and Candace was there. And he asked me to be his girlfriend. And I was like, 'Yes!'"

But according to McKellar, Bure also believed she was Miller's sweetheart at the time. The Full House alum had originally crossed paths with Miller, now 46, when he shared the screen with her brother, Kirk, on Growing Pains.

It was only many years later, when the stars aligned for both actresses on Dancing with the Stars in 2014, that McKellar realized the tangled teen romance web they had been in. "I found out that she was like, 'Oh, we were dating.' I'm like, 'What?'" McKellar chuckled. "So Jeremy, tsk, tsk, not good."

Thankfully, this whirlwind of young love didn't end in heartbreak or drama. In retrospect, McKellar dubbed the entire love triangle "so silly." She reminisced, "I mean, we were so young. We were like 13 years old. So, this was not any kind of serious relationship we're talking about." The good news? Her enduring friendship with Candace has weathered the test of time and teenage romantic tangles.

Fast forward to the present day, and these two leading ladies continue to make waves in the entertainment industry. They've rekindled their professional partnership in recent years on the Great American Family network, where Bure serves as the chief creative officer. As for McKellar, her latest project, Swing Into Romance, premiered on October 7th as part of the network's Autumn Harvest event.
