Could Dan + Shay be looking into adding a third member to their duo? According to them, Megan Moroney is the first person on their list.

In a recent interview, the duo was asked if they could pick anyone to join the group, who they would choose. "I'd say get a female," Shay shared. "Maybe get like Megan Moroney."
Then, speaking on the band's name, he and Dan debated on what would work best in that situation. At some point, Shay gave up and said, "We would have to just go with Megan. I dunno about Dan, Shay and Megan Moroney." Finally, Dan came up with a good alternative. "Meg, maybe. We gotta put her first though."
Honestly, Meg + Dan + Shay has a pretty good ring to it.
Dan + Shay Have Big Plans for 2026
Speaking of Dan + Shay, what has the dynamic country duo been up to? In 2025, the "Tequila" singers took a noticeable break from social media. However, in an update video on Instagram, they revealed that so far, their 2026 plans include "More music than ever, more shows," and "more tours than ever." It sounds like fans have something to get excited about.
In December, Dan + Shay dropped their holiday single, "Long Live Christmas", which follows the Christmas double album they released in 2024. In the video, Dan talks about how things got a little crazy, with them doing two tours in 2024, and celebrating the birth of Shay's firstborn with his wife, Hannah Billingsly. Dan + Shay weren't planning to take a break; it just sort of happened.
They want fans to know, though, that nothing has changed for the two of them when it comes to making music. In fact, he says that he and Shay have gotten "closer than ever."
"We've been in the studio literally all year, pretty much every day, making our favorite music we've ever made. People are asking, 'Did Dan and Shay break up?' Literally, we could not be further from breaking up...We're closer than we've ever been now, man. We're having a blast, having the time of our lives."
The duo confirmed that a new studio album is coming in 2026.
"We're fired up - 2026 is going to be huge for us. But yeah, we just wanted to say we're thinking about y'all. We love y'all," Dan concluded the message.
