Song Premiere: Dallas Moore Has the Yuletide Blues on 'Honky Tonk Holidaze'

Dallas Moore faces a blue Christmas on the Texas dance hall-ready "Honky Tonk Holidaze," a holiday heartbreaker for the stone-cold country side of your Christmas playlist.

Moore says the song, his first Christmas tune, came together while recording for his upcoming full-lenth album The Rain (out on March 19).

"Finally after all these years I'm getting in the holiday spirit and releasing my first Christmas song. I wrote this tune with my friend Ted Russell Kamp during a co-writing session we had earlier this year during quarantine," Moore tells Wide Open Country. "Ted was in Los Angeles and I was on our TEXAHIO Ranch and we had a great writing session via the High Tech Redneck magic of FaceTime. We recorded the song at OmniSound Studio in Nashville during the sessions for my upcoming album The Rain with Dean Miller producing. We had a great vibe going in the studio and captured 'Honky Tonk Holidaze' in just one take, featuring Guthrie Trapp on Electric Guitar, Steve Hinson on Pedal Steel, Jenee Fleenor on Fiddle, Chad Cromwell on Drums, Gordon Mote on Piano, Lex Price on Bass, Tim Galloway on Acoustic Guitar and Perry Coleman on Backing Vocals."
