Move over, Chip and Joanna. NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy are set to be the latest design TV stars.
Many fans expected the 42-year-old racing champion to mostly step away from the spotlight after announcing his retirement from the sport last month. Instead, he's taking on a very different endeavor alongside his wife.
Their new show on the DIY Network will follow their journey to buy and restore a fixer upper in the Old Town district of Key West. Although renovations come with a lot of challenges, the couple are well prepared. Amy is an accomplished interior designer for Wakefield Beasley & Associates in Atlanta.
"Amy is a fantastic designer," Dale said in a statement. "She has creative ideas and a strong work ethic. We love DIY projects around the house, so I expect this to be challenging but fun."
