Tragedy struck a family in Georgia after two thieves attempted to steal a man's pickup truck. Despite the father defending his home and truck against the crooks and their guns, he still died.

According to a press release from the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to a call regarding a downed person at 1870 King George Lane SW, at 4:35 am on January 17. Medical personnel announced him dead upon arrival. He died in his wife's arms right outside of their home that housed their three children.
According to the preliminary investigation from the statement and the widow's account that was shared to Fox 5, the man died after an altercation with two thugs triggered a fatal heart attack.
Javon Brown, 48, reportedly woke up at around 4:30 am for work. At that time, he heard a commotion outside his house. Two armed thieves tried to break into and steal his pickup truck.
This is when Brown grabbed his own gun and ran outside, to ward off the criminals.
According to Brown's wife, he stood outside his property and warned the thieves to "get off of his property." That's when they started shooting.
Armed Robbers Shoot Several Times At Father After Trying To Steal His Pickup Truck
The onslaught of bullets being fired at Brown woke the neighbors up. According to witnesses talking to the outlet, "eight or nine" bullets were fired.
Miraculously, none of the shots struck Brown, and the robbers fled the scene. It is unknown what the thieves looked like or what they were wearing, as they remain undescribed by authorities. Brown's wife, however, said that they were young.
Despite Brown not being hit, he still collapsed as the event triggered a heart attack.
"But then he went into cardiac arrest over the shock. He dropped down. I did CPR, I called 911 until I couldn't feel my arms and hands. But it wasn't enough," Brown's partner heartbreakingly recalled.
She said, "You work so hard. You do the right thing. You take care of your home and take care of your family and someone feels entitled to come and try to take it from you."
The criminals are still at large, although police say they are committed to tracking them down.
I hope Brown's family can deal with the incredible grief that has been pushed upon them so suddenly.
