As anyone who has ever worked in the food service industry knows, servers work hard for their tips. That's why a visitor to Langer's Deli in Los Angeles wanted to make sure the woman who took care of him was compensated for her great service.

The Customer Asked, "Did I Leave a Tip?"
Langer's shared a letter it received from the customer in a Facebook post earlier this month. It was from ESPN writer Roberto José Andrade Franco. He shared that he has eaten at the establishment the last two times he's visited Los Angeles.
In the caption, the restaurant wrote, "Roberto drove home from Langer's a few weeks ago and couldn't shake one nagging question: did he leave a tip? He was pretty sure he did. Pretty sure wasn't good enough."
It added, "So he wrote to us — from El Paso — and mailed $50 in an envelope, along with every detail he could recall about the booth he sat in and the morning he came, all so we could track down his server."
Langer's shared that the waitress received the tip. She "was floored."
"Roberto, thank you for going out of your way to do the right thing when nobody would have known otherwise," the restaurant said. "Your table's always ready here."
The Customer Once Worked In a Restaurant
In the letter, Andrade Franco said that while he and his friends were discussing who would pay the bill, he forgot whether he had left a tip.
The feeling he had forgotten something began to nag at him as he headed home. He knew firsthand that employees in the service industry rely on tips.
"My first job was as a bus boy and waiter, and my sister also worked as a waiter for years," he wrote. "I recognize how important these tips are to workers. That's why I'm sending these $50 just in case I forgot to include the tip."
The server did not wish to be named. But as PEOPLE reports, one of her coworkers says the recognition was well-deserved.
"She does so much for this place," he said. "Helping out in little places. People come to see her for years. She's just a great person."
