Part of being an actor or actress is learning to take criticism. Sometimes, that criticism is fair, and sometimes it's unwarranted. Either way, criticism is going to find you. Unfortunately for Criminal Minds' star Paget Brewster, she was in no mood for some criticism when reading a recent article from ScreenRant's Shealyn Scott.

Scott had recently written a review of Criminal Minds' new format. The show now has shorter seasons, thus cutting down on filler episodes and getting to the story faster. Scott noted that while the format achieves its goal, it's hindering some important subplots and side-stories from being told.
Paget didn't agree. Taking to X in what is now a deleted post, she let rip on the critic, urging them to find a new career.
"Hello, critic Shealynn Scott. You're young. You don't know that bad pics and bad reviews can lead to 350 people losing their jobs," Paget wrote, via Variety. "Sell vintage. Work at a shelter. Do something better than what you do now. Because right now you suck."
As you can imagine, Paget's retort went viral. Social media loves controversy, so oftentimes, those posts are rapidly amplified by the algorithm.
Paget Brewster Has Since Apologized
Following her outburst, Paget went back onto social media to offer a heartfelt apology.
"Hi guys, I was mean to Shealyn Scott last night and I profoundly regret it," she wrote. "Shame on me for insulting a human being for doing their job. I'm very sorry, Shealyn. And I'm sorry to those who follow me that you saw me behave like that. Turns out, last night, I sucked."
Unfortunately, Paget's apology didn't earn total understanding. As with anything on social media, some users were quick to pile on. However, others welcomed the accountability that Paget displayed with her post.
"She did the right thing,' one user wrote. "She crashed out in public, and she apologized in public. How many people refuse to even admit they were wrong? Good on her for owning the issue."
Paget will undoubtedly want to put the whole situation behind her. It's also fair to assume she won't be reading any criticism of Criminal Minds in the near future, either.
