Frozen, fruity margaritas are always fun, from bright pink strawberry margaritas to tropical mango margaritas. But if as a kid you were a fan of the orange and vanilla ice cream frozen treat known as the Creamsicle, then you're going to love the orange creamsicle margarita as an adult treat in the form of an alcoholic drink. This margarita recipe takes the classic ice cream bar and turns it into the perfect summer cocktail. It takes virtually no prep time, either; just pour all the ingredients into your blender and hit the on button.
All you need for this frozen margarita drink recipe is orange juice, tequila, triple sec, vanilla ice cream and crushed ice. A note on the alcohol: Gold or silver tequila is fine, and any kind of orange liqueur works if you don't have Triple Sec on hand. You can use fresh orange juice or frozen concentrate. If you like your brunch cocktails a little sweeter, add a little bit of granulated sugar to the mix; if you want your drink a little more on the sour side, add a squeeze of lime juice.

Some versions of the creamsicle margarita cocktail recipe use heavy cream or milk. If you're out of vanilla ice cream, you can swap one of those in, though you may need to add another spoonful of sugar.
Rimming the glass on this frozen margarita is easy trick for a little bit of a fancy garnish. Simply run a lime slice around the rim of the glass and then dip the rim of the glass into a plate covered with sugar. Add orange slices to the margarita glass for a pop of color. Serve your summer drink by the pool with a fantastic brunch spread, or have this creamsicle margarita slushie for adults as an afternoon snack.
