Craig Morgan has understandably stepped away from the spotlight since his teenage son, Jerry Greer, tragically died in a tubing accident in July. Earlier this week, he took a moment to thank his fans for supporting him through this difficult time.

Through a Facebook Live stream, Morgan recalled memories of Jerry and addressed those who have sent him and his family well wishes over the past few months.

“I wanted to personally get on here and tell all of you thank you so much for your kind words and your support, it’s been amazing. We’ve gotten letters and emails and Facebook posts and all kinds of stuff, so we want to say thank you. This is from my family. Thank you so much.”

After thanking many of his longtime friends in the industry, he happily remembered his son’s short but incredible life.

“My son Jerry was a most amazing man,” he said with a bright smile. “His spirit and his attitude and his love continues on through all of us. And I don’t just mean me and my family. I mean my crew, my friends, his friends and it’s an amazing story. We continue to cherish that in the time we had with him.”

Although Morgan is still mourning the loss of his beloved son, he’s already back out on the road. His current American Stories Tour is a stripped-down and intimate set that includes many surprise  special guests.

“This is not a normal tour,” he told fans. “We don’t just sing songs, we tell stories from the heart.”

The tour will continue into 2017, with additional dates set to be added in the coming weeks. You can see a full list of current dates here.
