On Oct. 20, Craig Morgan revisited some of his biggest hits as superstar duets with his six-song EP Enlisted. Nearly 21 years to the day of its original release, Morgan's first Top 10 country hit, "Almost Home," became a collaboration with Jelly Roll.
Morgan and Jelly Roll have since appeared together at the Grand Ole Opry House for a live duet. That footage was re-aired on The Kelly Clarkson Show to commemorate Veteran's Day (Nov. 11). An Army veteran, Morgan reenlisted in the Army Reserve on July 29 on the Opry stage. Per a press release, "the newly sworn in Staff Sergeant and Warrant Officer candidate will continue touring and releasing new music in his civilian career while simultaneously serving our country in the Army Reserve."
As Clarkson observed, Morgan "continues to be a huge supporter of service men and women, raising money and doing USO tours."
In the footage, Jelly Roll gets a huge ovation when joining Morgan and his band for one of the more emotional country songs of its time. Its lyrics tell the story of a passer-by who tries helping a homeless person, only to shatter visions of being back home as a child.
Enlisted also includes "Raise the Bar" featuring Luke Combs, "Redneck Yacht Club" featuring Blake Shelton, "That's What I Love About Sunday" featuring Gary Le Vox, "International Harvester" featuring Lainey Wilson and "This Ain't Gonna Be Me" featuring Trace Adkins.
Clarkson jokingly chuckled during the Opry footage's intro about Shelton's involvement. The talk show host has a new superstar collaboration of her own, singing backup vocals on "The Ship and the Bottle," a selection on Garth Brooks' new album Time Traveler. Brooks' album is available as part of his third and final The Limited Series box set, which is being sold exclusively at Bass Pro Shop.
