Miss Rodeo had nearly 30,000 Instagram followers and over 50,000 on TikTok. She used social media to share her love for horseback riding. Since the tragedy, her parents have requested that fans and the press respect their privacy during this difficult time.
In mourning of his niece, Mireles' uncle David González made a
Facebook post as a tribute to her. Translated to English, he wrote that she would "always live in our hearts. We will miss you dearly."Mireles rose to fame in the rodeo industry at eight years old. Since then, she had won Miss Rodeo Nuevo León 2020-2021 on top of Miss Rodeo Mexico the following year.
After the cowgirl's death on March 10, the official Instagram account for Miss Rodeo Nuevo León wrote its own tribute. "It is with deep sorrow that we join together to pay tribute to the memory of Valeria Mireles," the organization wrote in Spanish, as per E! News. "Valeria was more than a rodeo queen; she was an ambassador for cowboy culture, an inspiration to many young people.
"Her smile lit up every arena, her passion for rodeo was contagious," it continued. "Although his departure leaves us a void, his legacy will live on in our hearts and in the memory of the rodeo."
One of Mireles' friends, Cindy Ximena Garza, shared her own message in memory of the rodeo queen. "I lack words to describe how much your departure hurts us," wrote Garza in Spanish. "You leave us a huge void.
"I am grateful that God has allowed me to grow with you and share so many good moments." Garza also mentioned how she would carry "so many laughs and anecdotes" with her always. "I will carry you in my memory and in my heart with that smiling and sweet face."
