Prior to her death, Mica Miller had sought a divorce from South Carolina Pastor John-Paul Miller. Court documents are shining more light on the alleged reasons why.
John-Paul and Mica Miller didn't have any children together, but John-Paul does have five children from his first marriage. Mica and John-Paul allegedly cheated on their partners with each other, resulting in their respective marriages blowing up. From there, the two married in 2017 when Mica was 23 and John-Paul was 38.
Mica Miller reportedly filed from divorce in 2023. However, the courts dismissed the divorce request in February 2024. In April, Mica filed a Support & Maintenance request and had a court date for June. According to documents, Mica claimed her husband was "engaging in acts of adultery with women whose names are well known." After their separation, members of the congregation saw him with an alleged girlfriend.
Mica said that she sought the divorce because she didn't support his alleged adultery. Likewise, she said her husband had a "growing hostility" towards her. She said he "threatened to throw [her] belongings into the yard, has locked [her] out of her own home, and defamed and demeaned [her] before a congregation of people."

Mica sought alimony and said she was entitled to a share of the assets, saying she "contributed to the improvements of certain pre-marital property to such an extent that it has been transmuted into marital property." After Mica's passing, one of John-Paul's exes stepped forward, claiming that he committed infidelity during his first marriage.
She wrote, "I was a child but at the time I didn't see an issue, but at 19 obiously he should have!! We dated for a year and I found out he was dating his first wife , Ali while we were together (unbeknownst to her)....She later found out and he lied about it as he continued to do about the MULTITUDE of infidelities the remainder of their marriage."
She said that he continued to contact her. She wrote, "This has been hard to watch and keep quite about but I feel it is time to be transparent about it... I attended and graduated from Grand strand academy (later renamed Cathedral Hall Academy). The church and school his father founded and was head master of, which later became Solid Rock. I dated John Paul and dealt with a small amount of his abuse comparatively. JP also contacted me inappropriately after Ali finally left him due to infidelity(around 2016). [He] was not remorseful of his actions to her with others. [He] was upset over the amount of people that left the church that hurt him financially and was quickly shut down on my end."
