Most of us wish for true love that will stand the test of time. That dream came true for this incredible Tennessee couple who recently celebrated a huge milestone together.
On Nov. 12, Allan and Margaret Little had a joint birthday celebration at their home in Lakeshore Meadows in Nashville, Tenn. Although the pair had celebrated many birthdays together, this one was one of the biggest. On this day, both Allan and Margaret were now 100 years old.
"I never thought about living to be 100, but good health got me here," Margaret told ABC News. So what did these two longtime lovebirds get each other for the big occasion? "Allan gave me two dozen of red roses and a beautiful two-piece suit for church," she explained.
"Margaret gave me a beautiful baby blue sweater monogrammed with my initials," said Allan. This adorable couple married all the way back in 1939, years after meeting in church as small children. "Living with Margaret all these years was easy. It was natural," Allan said of his wife. "We lived a simple life with no controversy."
In a time when divorce has become a common occurrence, how did these two manage to stay together for the long haul? "In one word, LOVE," Margaret said. "We did not fuss. We also respected each other."
Allan had a much simpler response. "I married the right woman," he said.
