Rock icon David Bowie passed away at the age of 69 on Sunday. The news broke early Monday morning after the following message was shared by family members through the artist’s social media accounts.

Both fans and fellow artists were shocked at the news of Bowie’s death, which came just two days after his twenty-fifth album, Blackstar, was released.
Bowie’s incredible influence as an inventive artist and songwriter reaches across all genres, including country music. Some of country’s biggest artists have taken to their own social media accounts to share their memories and condolences.
