Country Stars Pause CMA Fest Church Set To Pray After Audience Member Faints

Brandon Lake, who had just welcomed CeCe Winans, was alerted to the incident by a fan frantically waving to catch his attention during the show.

Those who attended CMA Fest on Sunday, June 7, had somewhat of a surprise. Eager fans had gotten together in spite of the soaring temperatures in the hope of attending Cowboy Church with Brandon Lake. Sunday was the final day of the Nashville festival, adding to the allure of being present.

Sunday's event eventually reached max capacity, with the sold-out crowd standing shoulder-to-shoulder in heat that had reached 80 degrees before 9 am. Lake was clearly impressed with the turnout, noting that his "goal is that we would so pack it out that in a year or two they'd have to move it," with a larger area likely in mind.

However, when you pack so many people in close proximity, the risk of someone overheating is real. Unfortunately, that's precisely what happened when one fan passed out. Lake, who had just welcomed CeCe Winans to perform "I Know A Name", was alerted to the incident by a fan frantically waving to catch his attention during the show.

"This is more important," Lake said upon realizing what was going on. He then proceeded to call on the on-site medical team.

Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans Began To Lead a Prayer

As the team began working on the audience member, Lake and Winans began to pray.

"Well, in Jesus' name," Lake began a prayer, via American Songwriter. "... Revive him right now. Give him strength."

Once the medical team had done their job and the fan was taken out of the area, Luke led the praise for the job the staff had done.

"Let's give it up for our medical team, officers," Lake said. "On that note, drink your water. Drink your water! God is a healer, but we've got to be smart."

From there, the concert kicked back into full swing. Lake also welcomed out Dan + Shay, who performed "She Believes In Me". The country star then wrapped things up with three solo tracks. They included "Hard Fought Hallelujah" and "Gratitude".

Hopefully, the fan who fainted is okay and can make a full recovery. Hopefully, everyone else in attendance had a great time and was able to remain safe, both during the event and on their journey home.
