In his new memoir, the "Like the Rain" singer revealed that he and Lisa went through four pregnancy losses before Lily's birth.

Clint spoke with PEOPLE about the struggles he and his wife faced in expanding their family. The 64-year-old singer emphasized their partnership, sharing that he and Lisa "got through it together."
"We encouraged each other when we needed it," he explained. "It was a painful, scary time. Something we wanted was seemingly less and less attainable. So this just creates a little bit of turmoil, but we had each other to lean on."
The couple kept their losses to themselves, with Clint saying the two wanted to "keep hope alive."
After facing these difficult times together, it all worked out. Lisa and Clint would welcome their daughter, Lily, into the world on May 8, 2001. He described that moment as "exhaustingly joyful."
He added, "It was so great that it just beats everything. And the joy of it, it would just wear us out."
Lily Is Now Starting Her Own Career
As Clint begins promoting his memoir, titled Killin' Time: My Life and Music, he's been reflecting on his life with actress and singer Lisa, whom he married in 1991, and Lily. His daughter is now starting to build her own music career. She also serves as a sort of social media manager for Clint.
"She'll get me to do things that no one else would get me to do. We just taped four things for a funny video that I could never have imagined doing. I came up with some of the silliness myself," he said.
Clint added, "Lisa couldn't believe I was willing to do it. That's what a kid will do. I knew when she was born, I'm going to live a different kind of life than I've been living."
