The "One Night Standards" singer played at the Lansdowne Theater in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, on October. 24. Fan footage from the performance shows the 43-year-old country star seemingly happily belting out her hits to her adoring fans.
However, rather than sticking around after the show to meet fans and sign autographs, the "Brenda Put Your Bra On" singer did an Irish exit.
However, she did offer up an explanation for her uncharacteristic skipping of her normal fan meet-and-greets. It seems somthing that went down backstage but a bit of fear in her bones.
"Normally I would stay and sign, especially when the seats are that close to the stage," McBryde explained from what looked like her tour bus on her Instagram Stories, via Taste of Country.
"But tonight things got creepy. In a...backstage way," she cautiously continued. "I don't know how to safely tell you this."
Ashley McBryde: 'It Wasn't Gonna Be Safe for Me To Stay' After 'Creepy' Backstage Moment
The country star didn't seem comfortable giving out the gory details of the encounter. However, she did tell fans that the issue was dealt with. That said, she admitted she felt uncomfortable sticking around backstage for fan interactions after the "creepy" moment.
"It was clear that it wasn't gonna be safe for me to stay after, and be reachable, and all of that," McBryde added. "One bad apple spoils the whole bunch."
Of course, it wasn't an easy choice for McBryde to make. She added that it "broke her heart" and that "it's part of why I love to play music."
"Please don't be heartbroken," she told fans. "I just didn't get to stay this time."
Meanwhile, fans will hopefully have plenty more chances to meet the country star. Her "Into the Wild Tour" continues through December, with her next show dates set for Ohio in early November. Even fans across the pond will have a chance to see her perform. Her tour hits Europe, the UK, and Australia this March.
