Country Star Reveals Why She "Refuses" to Talk Politics on Stage

The country star revealed that, above anything else, she's a "patriot". "We live in the greatest country in the world," she explained.

Politics is just one of those things where everyone is going to disagree, no matter what. Whether you're on one side of the aisle or the other, one thing's true: unity is difficult, especially the way things stand with the current political climate.

Some people tend to be outspoken about their beliefs, whilst others choose to keep quiet. That extends to famous country stars, too. And one person who really embodies that quietness is Wynonna Judd.

As reported by Whiskey Riff, she's famously never really spoken out about her political beliefs, especially on stage. But despite that, people have tried to place her on one side of the aisle or another anyway.

Her longtime friend Rosie O'Donnell recently described the country star as "the only Trump supporter she was friends with." But Wynonna denounced that, "I'm in shock, just so you know. I've never spoken to her about politics in my life."

She explained that that comment was "assumption, 100%," adding, "She doesn't know anything about my stuff, and I'm an independent. I don't discuss it."

"And I'm not angry about it," she also clarified at the time. "I heard it and I went, 'What the-- I don't ever remember talking to her about this.'"

The Country Star Said She's an Entertainer Above All

It turns out that O'Donnell made that assumption because the country star had recently performed at Mar-a-Lago. But Wynonna explained on a recent episode of the Tomi Lahren is Fearless podcast that she performed there out of "patriotism" rather than any political beliefs.

"I've performed for seven presidents, Congress, the Senate. I'll go anywhere and sing to anybody... I don't care about that, and people just don't understand that."

She says she channels the way of Dolly Parton, explaining, "What would Dolly do if she was performing on stage and someone asked her a question about politics or gay or straight or whatever. I'm like, 'Music is for everybody'."

She also said that, above any political beliefs, she's an American at heart. "When I'm on stage I go straight to the flag and I go straight to America. We live in the greatest country in the world. I mean, if it was president Biden I would support him because he's the freaking President. That's what I am, I'm a patriot."
