Country Star Reveals Things are More Harmonious Between Artists Than in Other Genres

The country star revealed that things are a lot more genuine in the country music scene than in other scenes he's been a part of.

Everyone knows that relationships in the music industry are ephemeral at best. It's no secret that a lot of artist just straight aren't friends. But one seemingly peaceful genre is country music.

Sure, there's been no shortage of feuds in the scene, with high-ticket names not being quiet about their beliefs about people. But it certainly pales in comparison to other music scenes.

And for rapper turned country star BigXthaPlug, that's something he certainly didn't expect. As reported by Whiskey Riff, he opened up about his experiences in the hip-hop scene when compared to the country music scene.

He was talking with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast. Sharpe had asked him about country music, and whether the artists were more "united" than hip-hop artists.

"As of right now, yes," he answered. "With hip-hop, it's segregated. You got your Atlanta rappers, you got your Miami rappers, you have your New York rappers. It shouldn't be like that. It didn't used to be like that. I don't feel like it used to be like that," he continued.

The Country Star Opened Up About His Experiences

BigXthaPlug is known for fusing country and rapping into one coherent genre. That means he's been present at both hip-hop festivals (specifically Rolling Loud), and also country festivals (specifically California).

"You go to Rolling Loud now, you can't even talk to nobody," he revealed. "You've got to get there, do your interviews, do your set and leave, because everybody's fighting. There's people getting stabbed," he noted. Pretty crazy stuff, right?

Of course, it's a whole different story for country music. "I went to the country festival... Stagecoach. You don't have to deal with none of that. I was walking back there with fans. They don't-- it's not there. You go to a Rolling Loud and it's that - they're searching your cars, you can't have nothing."

He also revealed that country music artists genuinely do spend time with each other. "The difference is with a country artist that you can catch those two artists drinking beer at a bar on a random Wednesday, just cause."
