Luke Bryan has cancelled two upcoming shows on his 'Word On The Street' tour. Both shows are based in the Pacific Northwest, which is currently dealing with some serious wildfires. Of course, when wildfires are impacting areas, the air quality also suffers.
Bryan dealt with impacted air quality during a recent show in Oregon. Following that performance, the "That's My Kind Of Night" singer decided to pull the plug on two upcoming shows. Bryan made the announcement in a wide-ranging video, where he discussed the air quality in Oregon and what led to his decision-making.
"Obviously, we are out west, and had a show in Bend, Oregon last night,"
Bryan then continued by admitting that his asthma took its toll on him during his Oregon performance.
"Sometimes it gets the best of me, and it did last night. Then having to show up in Washington tonight and tomorrow with all of the wildfires going, we just felt like it'd be probably best to come back and reschedule to where we know I'll be 100%."
Luke Bryan Is Rescheduling the Two Shows
As the video continued, Bryan noted that he will be rescheduling both shows for October.
"...We are rescheduling tonight's show in Spokane to October 11 and tomorrow's show in Seattle to October 10. Thank you for your patience and understanding," Bryan continued. "I can't wait to be back and see y'all soon. Please hold on to your tickets, as they will be honored for the new dates."
Of course, Bryan then ensured to apologize to the fans who have been impacted by his decision.
"We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this cancellation may cause and send our thoughts and prayers to everyone in the area who has been impacted by these devastating fires," he said. "The Kalispel Tribe and Northern Quest will still be making a donation to the Spokane Complex Wildfire Response Fund."
Bryan will now move on to the next set of dates on his tour. He will undoubtedly hope that his asthma gets back to playing nice when he's back out on stage.
