Tyler Farr has broken the silence on the accident that led to his hospitalization. If you recall, it also forced him to cancel his set at the Goshen Stampede in Connecticut on Saturday, June 13.
As we previously reported, the event runners announced that he had stepped out due to a severe concussion. But the country star has now shed some more light as to exactly what happened that day, according to People.
He posted a video on social media addressing the situation. He started it with a heartfelt thank you for all the support he got.
"I just wanted to say a big thanks for all the people who have sent out their prayers or messages," he said. "Friends, family, fans, thank you so much."
He then got into the heart of the message. "I was hospitalized last week for a severe concussion. I was unresponsive for about two minutes," he explained.
He explained exactly where he was when the accident happened. Initial reports said he had an accident on his farm, but, as he put it, "I was doing a writer's retreat, and a buddy of mine was driving a pickup truck — I was on the tailgate."
He continued, "It was just a kind of a freak deal, pothole riding on a tailgate." However fun that sounds, I think this whole thing has put me off that for life! He added, "I was in the middle, had nothing to hold onto. What I was told, that's what happened."

He Thought the Accident Was His Fault
Of course, as with anyone who has something tragic and dangerous like that happen, Tyler Farr thought it was all his fault at first. But he clarified, "It was an accident. It wasn't nobody's fault."
It was the first thing he asked, too. "Believe it or not, it was not mine: because that was the first thing I asked when I became responsive."
But it's not all bad. He revealed he wrote "some great songs" during the retreat. So even if the Goshen Stampede-goers didn't get Farr, they'll certainly be able to jam out to some of his new songs very, very soon.
He ended the clip with a pretty heartfelt declaration. "I love country music," he exclaimed. "I'll keep saying that 'til they put me in the ground. We love you."
We're glad he's doing well!
