Country music star Jillian Cardarelli is beginning her cancer treatment. As we previously reported, she had announced her diagnosis last month.
She said she originally thought something was wrong when she was more tired than usual.
"It was in an area of very dense tissue, and I remember thinking, 'Maybe I'm in my head a little bit,'" she explained at the time. "But something in my gut was like, 'This feels a little bit different to me.' That's when I went, and I got checked out, and I found out that it was a malignant tumor."
More specifically, she was diagnosed with a Stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma. She said in a social media post, "If breast cancer can happen to an otherwise healthy young woman with no family history of breast cancer, negative genetic testing, and 7 years before routine screening is recommended, it can happen to anyone."
Now, she's taking the first important step in getting better—she's started treatment for her cancer. As reported by Penn Live, the country star took to social media to announce her treatment.
