Country Singer Teases New Song That Calls Out His Ex Following Messy Divorce

Jay Allen and Kylie Morgan are both in happy, healthy relationships. But Allen feels the need to set the record straight.

Jay Allen is rekindling an old flame this year. By that, I mean, he's telling his side of his divorce from Kylie Morgan, yet again. Only this time, he might be doing it in song.

If you follow Allen at all, you know that he and Morgan officially separated in October of 2024. It didn't take long for Morgan finalize the divorce, on Valentine's Day of 2025, no less. Already, this whole thing is sounding a bit sticky.

Now, this past week, Allen posted a cover of a Carly Pearce song on his Instagram. The song is titled "What He Didn't Do (Male Version)", and is an anthem Pearce wrote following her own divorce. Pearce sings about all the things her ex "didn't do", rather than accusing him of all the things he did.

It's definitely a callout to Jay's past relationship with Kylie.

The post was accompanied by the caption: "Should I release this? Just kidding ... I AM," and not everyone was excited for Jay.

Since getting divorced, Jay has moved on and is engaged to Renee Lynn, whom he announced he would marry on Christmas of this year. Even Morgan, who released a song about Jay in August, is in a happy, committed relationship with Alek Halverson.

Many of the comments couldn't understand why these two keep harping on the past.

Jay Allen Is Just Trying To "Set the Record Straight"

Even though some fans of Jay are annoyed that he wants to bring up the past again, in late 2025, he shared that there were a few things regarding his divorce from Kylie that he needed to clear up.

This came after some fans questioned the integrity of his new relationship with Rennee, whom he had been with for about 7 months before choosing to get engaged.

"To set the record straight," he wrote on Instagram, "... my ex had an affair on ME, and that was why we got divorced. I found out in the fall of 2024 that it was happening behind my back in my home. I was already unhappy as she did not support my sobriety and was obviously trying to hide something, but this gave me a reason to move on." Allen also highlighted his sobriety journey, sharing, "Today I'm 19 months sober, newly engaged, and truly happy."

In May, Allen also announced that he was celebrating one year of sobriety, after choosing to abstain permanently from alcohol and adderall.
