"I wanted to give an update bout my fight,"

he wrote on Facebook. "Last week my scans gave me some bad luck news. I'm going off chemo and begin 15 treatments of radiation next week. Sarcoma is like kudzu, unrelenting & good at creeping in. You can't be caught lackin. For a second I's spiralin back to when I first got laid low. Wonderin again if I'm rehearsin my last days. But even though life can be a cool deck of cards, I still say you gotta play the hand. With cancer, and most of life, you ask for a lot, and take what you can get. I said when I first get sick that I live by my own terms. Sometimes I find it a difficult realization that while I'm fightin for every atom of me, others want to leave this barnburning world. But I get it. Just last week I been there. My loved ones have to had my pistol, too friends."

Country Singer Talks Cancer Battle

The country singer said that death has "winked" at him. Myers got poetic about his current condition.

"At one point I couldn't tell myself from my own shadow," he continued. "I took have woke up lost in the evening of my future, unable to tell the difference between a sunset and a sunrise. But today, I woke up rememberin death aint took me this time, he just winked at me again. All I know is I ain't gon nowhere. I'ma keep course, and keep fighting like hell. If the other shoe is bound to fall, it'll get to fallin. This is a setback, not a throwback. This ain't going backward, this is falling forward. If you like me, out the torrents of summer a cool autumn breeze can carry you thru months of bad rain."

This comes after the country singer dropped out of all his upcoming performances. He shared that he needed to focus on his own treatment for the future.
