But being on break doesn't mean Wall hasn't been busy. In fact, the "Sleeping on the Blacktop" singer quietly got married over the weekend. We have the details below.
Who Did Colter Wall Marry?
Alt-country singer-songwriter Hayden Redwine shared the news in an Instagram post, sharing images and video from what looked like a wild time in Saskatchewan, Canada.
"Congratulations to two of my favorite people," he wrote in the caption. "Just doesn't get much better. Saw some beautiful country and had a big time up here."
As reported by AL.com, Shelby Stone and Noeline Hofmann also attended the nuptials. But who is Wall's bride?
While some other outlets haven't reported the name of Wall's better half, some internet sleuthing leads us to believe it is Maggy Cooper, who holds the title of Assistant Program Manager at the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Foundation.
What's Next for Wall?
When Wall suddenly stopped his tour in March, it was in support of his critically acclaimed fifth album, titled Memories and Empties. The singer shared a statement on social media explaining the reason for the cancellation.
"Myself and the band and the crew are very grateful for the privilege to play music together for you. We thank you for it," the singer wrote. "The truth is that I am mentally unwell. Despite this, I have pushed myself to continue with touring. As a result, my mental health has only further declined... Thank you for your understanding and support."
Then, several weeks later, Jason Simpson, the bassist for Wall's backing band The Scary Prairie Boys, died at the age of 51. No cause of death has been revealed.
"Stood beside me for 10 years, on stage and off," Wall wrote at the time. "Rest in peace my good friend. You are missed."
Other than (hopefully) a honeymoon, only Wall knows what the future holds for him next.
