Ella Langley is choosing not to let the haters get to her. She fired back at people who have been "picking on" her since she broke Mariah Carey's Billboard Hot 100 record.

Ella Langley Said She Isn't Used to the Attention
In case you didn't know, Langley's hit "Choosin' Texas" has broken all sorts of records. It recently became the longest-running No. 1 single on the Hot 100 chart. The record was previously held by Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You," which spent 22 weeks at the top.
But being on top makes Langley a target. In a TikTok clip taken from the 27-year-old singer's Sep. 25 concert, she told the audience in Columbus, Ohio, that over the last year, people have commented on "the way I look, the way I speak, the way I dress, the way I move, the way I sing, [and] the way I write."
"I don't think I've ever had more opinions on myself in my life than I have in this last year," she said.
The Singer Was "Bothered" by the Comments
At first, the attention and comments "bothered" Langley.
"I was like, 'What am I going to do about this? If this is what I'm signing up to do, I don't know about this. I signed up to sing music, and I love to do what I do, but if this is what it's going to be the whole entire time, I mean s***, I don't know if I'm strong enough for this,'" she explained.
She then added, "The girl that they're kind of picking on is the girl that got me where I'm sitting here today. That's the girl that rode in a 15-passenger van night after night after night. She rode in a Honda Accord night after night after night, chased her dream, living on bar food, living on tip jar money."
Langley soon realized her success was nothing to be ashamed of.
She declared, "So I'm going to tell you right now. I am proud of that girl that everybody seems to be picking on all the time."
