A popular country singer put a security guard on blast mid-song during a recent show, leading to a debate on concertgoing etiquette.

Indeed, "South of Sanity" singer Zach Top offered a young fan a honky-tonk helping hand at his recent "Boots in the Park" show in Fresno, California. It seems the youngster could see Top while he was performing "Lonely For Long," and she ended up with the best seat in the house: on her pa's shoulders.
However, security at the show wasn't having it, apparently ordering the girl off her dad's back and on her feet. Top noticed the moment, and tried to intervene while also keeping the tune going for fans.
"She can stay on your shoulders," the singer says in fan footage posted on TikTok. "Hey buddy, she's a kid. She can stay on his shoulders. Leave it alone."

Understandably, the 28-year-old singer missed a couple of lyrics during the exchange. However, he stayed on the saddle, barely missing a beat of the fan-favorite song. Meanwhile, the young fan, decked out in a coqboy hat, remained on her dad's shoulders, offering up a little grin.

Sure, it's a sweet moment, and it seems like the story should end there. However, this being the year of our lord 2026, a debate raged in the comments section of the cute video about music show audience etiquette.
"The person behind the kid was almost able to see," one top comment read, tipping their hat to the poor ol' soul forced to stand staring at the back of the daughter-dad duo as Top performed. "I get the sentiment but I also don't think kids belong at concerts either," another onlooker added. "It's fun for the kid, but SUCKS for the people behind them," a third concert lover chimed in.
