Everyone knows dating is complicated; this is no secret.
I thought I might be able to look to country music to figure out just what it is that makes a country girl tick. I thought maybe I could find the secret formula to a girl’s heart by gathering up the lessons in country songs.
It turns out that’s easier said than done.
What I learned about dating country girls from listening to country music possibly left me even more befuddled than when I started. Here are the 11 lessons I learned about dating country girls from listening to country music.
11. What they’re attracted to
They need a man who can keep them warm at night and treat them right. Looks, money and fancy cars don’t impress country girls. Neither does Brad Pitt…

10. What they expect from you
A country girl is looking for a man to accept her just the way she is. As goes the cliche, if you can’t handle her at her worst, you don’t deserve her at her best. Of course, her best may be a bra from Walmart, your t-shirt or sneakers. Oh and it’s ok if she is late, but you had better not be.

9. What a good date is
Sometimes a romantic date for a country girl is just hanging out in bed all day and, well, you know… They can also get kinky.

…aaand sometimes it’s not. Sometimes they want you to get off your butt and take them out.

Girls seem to always be on the lookout for someone different, someone unique. In a world where every other song is about taking a girl on a date to drive around in your truck in a muddy field, maybe what’s unique is taking her to a nice restaurant and dancing.
