The Only Thing That Could Make This Chris Stapleton Show Better Was Having Two Stapletons
The moment took place at the Rogers Center in Toronto on Aug. 6, during a show already filled with moments.
After Stapleton appeared at a Guns N' Roses show at the same venue the night before, two members of the rock band, Slash and Duff McKagan, came on stage to perform the ballad "Patience." And Slahl's solo on their cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well" melted some faces.
Even Zach Top showed up to help Stapleton cover Waylon Jennings' "I Ain't Living Long Like This." By this point, fans had already gotten more than their money's worth. But let's face it, the only way this show was going to get any better was if there were two Chris Stapletons.
Well, someone hold our Tennessee whiskey, because somehow Stapleton did it.
The "White Horse" singer stopped the show and pointed out someone in the crowd that bore a strong resemblance to... himself.
"Hello, Canadian twin," Stapleton called out. "We'll put you to work. You better watch out. You'll be signing autographs for everybody later."
The Fan Is Actually an Impersonator
The lookalike is Dave McNab, who is well known in Ontario for impersonating Stapleton. His show is called "Outlaw State of Mind: The Ultimate Tribute to Chris Stapleton."
But that's not all. On the days when McNab isn't Stapleton, he also pays tribute to Luke Combs for a show titled "Beautiful Crazy: The Luke Combs Experience."
McNab shared his excitement about being recognized by one of his heroes in the comments on an Instagram post highlighting his big moment.
He wrote, "Was a pretty cool moment for me I have to say!"
