Personality clashes, artistic differences, and people just deciding to move on can be typical motivations for such moves. Having said that, it came as an unpleasant surprise to many when Cheyenne Dalton Meyer, a member of Zach Top's backing band, announced that she and her husband, Jimmy Meyer, were both let go by the "Bad Luck" singer. As American Songwriter phrased it, she "was there before the fame." However, Dalton Meyer was still cut loose by Top, along with her spouse. The cause is unclear.

The musician captioned her Instagram post, "Let's talk about it..."
She went on to write, "A little over a month ago, I was let go from my position with ZT. While this was unexpected, I want to thank all of you for following along with me on all of my adventures. I'll miss all of the fun, playing great music, and meeting every one of you. I couldn't have done this without all of your kindness and encouragement. You all built up my confidence, and I have transformed into who I am today because of you!"
Dalton Meyer then added, "I'm back home in Missouri now, and although I'm not sure what comes next, I'll still be here posting my daily life. If you choose to stay around, I thank you! Who knows, maybe someday I'll put out some of my own music for the world to hear.

She Started as a Merch Girl for Top
Dalton Meyer worked her way up the ladder for Zach Top. Per the outlet, "...[S]he was a merch girl for the band." In fact, already an experienced mandolin and fiddle player, Dalton Meyer had to be proficient on the guitar as well to join Top's band. She acquired the necessary skill very quickly.
As for what career moves the couple might make next, it's anyone's guess.
