She has a whopping 35 number-one hits on the Billboard country chart over her five-decade long career. She has also sold tens of millions of albums all over the world and holds the record for the most Top 10 hits by a female artist on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
The "Does He Love You" singer has also been honored with numerous awards, including three Grammys, an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and a Kennedy Center Honor.
Now, the celebrated 70-year-old has yet another reason to celebrate. We have the exciting details below.
Reba McEntire Has Been a Part of This Institution for Four Decades
The Oklahoma-born McEntire made her debut at the Grand Opry 49 years ago. Then, on Jan. 14, 1986, she received the incredible honor of joining the beloved Nashville institution.
To mark the 40th anniversary of her induction, the Opry shared some of the moments the singer graced its stage.
"Many memories, stories, and songs have been shared since 1986—and before that too. Happy to be celebrating 40 years with you, @reba!" reads the caption.
The video begins with McEntire being introduced by none other than the legendary Grant Turner.
"It's my honor to be standing here on this stage," she said at the time. "This small piece of wood has probably heard more sad songs than I will probably sing all the rest of my life."
That comment is almost charming now in hindsight, considering how McEntire's star has soared since that fateful night. She shines everywhere today with celebrated television shows and appearances, cementing her place as one of country music's true icons alongside legends like Dolly Parton.
The "Happy's Place" Star Will Return to the Opry Tomorrow
On Jan. 16, Suzy Bogguss will be officially inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. McEntire is expected to appear onstage to support the "Outbound Plane" singer.
Next month, McEntire is expected to be in Los Angeles for this year's Grammy Awards. She was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson for their song "Trailblazer."
Amid all of this, McEntire is also planning her wedding to her Happy's Place co-star Rex Linn.
"Have no idea when we're going to set a date. Work comes first, so we'll see," she said.
