When most people announce that they're engaged, they want things to go smoothly, but quickly. After all, tying the knot is on the list of most people's happiest days, right?
But, some people want to take things a little slower. And one of those is Reba McEntire. In case you weren't aware, she and her boyfriend, Rex Linn, announced their engagement back in September 2025.
We broke the news when it happened. They announced their engagement on the red carpet of the 2025 Emmy awards. The pair have starred on numerous shows, the most recent of which was Happy's Place.
At the time, the country legend explained, "We're having a blast on Happy's Place and so glad to be here tonight."
And, since then, they've teased at things happening with their marriage. Back in May, she opened up about some of their plans for the heartwarming ceremony itself.
We reported that she wanted her "granddogs" to be a part of the show, which is tentatively taking place at their Tennessee ranch. "We're going to have to have dogs there. I have two granddogs, Watson and Belle, so they may be the ring bearers or something like that, but we have to have our animals in there," the country legend explained.
She added, "We've got longhorns and donkeys, horses and everything there at the place, cats. We have a lot of fun with them."

Even Then, the Country Legend Wanted to Take Her Time
Even back in May, Reba McEntire was keen to explain how she wanted to take things slow.
"I asked him, 'Well, when do you want to do this?', he said, 'Let's have fun with the engagement time. So, we haven't set a date or anything."
And, as of August, that's still the same. Per iHeart Country, the country legend explained, "We're just waiting until we have an open spot to have the wedding. Get it planned. Print those invitations."
That's a good sign, to be fair - this might mean their wedding is finally going somewhere! But, who can judge - after all, it's their special day, and no one else's.
