Country Icon Reveals He's Sober After Rehab Journey: "I Let Down My Band, My Crew, and Most Importantly God”

The country singer had announced he was taking a break last month, but he didn't explain why. We now know he checked into rehab.

Country star Justin Moore has gotten candid with the world. As reported by Taste of Country, he revealed his storied journey with alcoholism and getting sober through rehab.

He first shared the news of his recovery during a show in Knoxville, Illinois. He exclaimed, "I just got out of rehab for 30 days. This is my 31st day sober."

"And I'm gonna try to help as many people as I can from this point forward until my last days on earth. And hopefully set a much better example for my kiddos."

Of course, this is really emotional news. So it got the reaction it deserved - a "roar of approval" from the crowd.

Pointing to a fan's sign, he said, "I know there's a sign over there that says 'Welcome Back', because we've been off a while."

He said that his "drinking got out of control". "And I don't say that to bring us down," he said. "We're still gonna do drinking songs, don't get me wrong."

Drinking songs are the bread and butter of country music - it makes sense he'll still be doing them! But he made a heartfelt comment about his alcoholism: "But I let down my band and my crew, and most importantly, God and my family."

The Country Singer Had Announced A Break Last Month

But whilst we knew Justin Moore was going on a break when he announced it, he wasn't very keen to explain the reasons why.

He explained in a statement at the time, "This is the right decision for me and my family, and I appreciate everyone's understanding and support." It makes sense he was cagey with the reason - going to rehab isn't easy, especially when you're sharing it with the world.

He originally announced his return with a video of him walking through a backstage set to LL Cool J's classic "Mama Said Knock You Out." What a way to get back into the swing of things!

We're glad he's doing better now, and we hope he can get back into the swing of things. We can't wait to hear his next escapades!
